I haven’t written a science-fiction novel. I’ve dabbled with short stories quite a bit, exploring different story ideas, different themes. Some were comedic, some were adventures, some were thrillers. Yet, whenever I find the right amount of inspiration to turn an idea into a novel, I find the experience wonderful, then infuriating, and then I write a short story instead.

For a long time, I have been writing more instructional pieces for my students. I always try to provide helpful information that that steers them towards their goal, be it writing more often, writing better, or publishing their novel. I enjoy making this content and I have an endless supply of questions from my students that I can answer in videos.

These rules not only reinforce their way of writing but push them to improve their writing as well. If you are sincere about improving your writing, you will start developing your own rules as well.
