Paul stared at the water, but it was the same still blue. He cut an angry glance at Melissa.
“You told me they would swim past by now,” Paul reminded her.
“Come on, the school of Nemos were pretty cool,” Melissa replied, leaning over the rails.
It was something that began when they were born. A young couple moved in across the street with a kid in each hand. One was newly born, a handful of years younger than the fully grown child in his father’s arms. I believe that is where it began, but there are many reasons.
The door swung silently on its hinges and Death entered the home. The cold air of home welcomed him and was ready to warm it with the logs he carried. Within moments, Death’s home was made warm and bright with the light of fire.
Ever so often you need to take a moment to appreciate the small things. I heard it, you heard it, but what does it truly mean? The two of us are trapped in a lunar station on one of the Red Moons, but no space ship could take us home, help didn’t seem to be arriving and that impending doom seemed to be setting in. What would you do?
We tapped our feet softly as the music played. The tune welcomed us into a surreal fantasy that took care of us better than anyone else had in a while. You would think a classroom without its teacher would be louder, but we all sat with earphones blaring music. Each one alone, writing, studying or at least pretending too.
