I Started a Webcomic! - Malice

I have always enjoyed comics and graphic novels. It’s a hobby that has persisted since my teenage years. I enjoy the art styles and the stories, the fun expressions and stylistic action if the story has any action.

Now, I am happy to announce the start of my very own webcomic series; Malice!

What’s It About?

Malice is the story of a world under siege from the forces of evil. Endless night has fallen, the world’s only light is the moon and a few fires made by the survivors of this invasion.

Many speculate as to how it happened and few have ideas of how it came to be, but all realise they are no longer safe. From monstrous beasts to corrupted humans, the threats are numerous. Yet, that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope.

The story follows a knight of an ancient order of scholars, Ricon. With an already grim demeanour, Ricon is one of the few who take this new world in stride.

Why Did I Start It?

Reading comics and graphic novels is a hobby that has persisted since my early years. While I never took to superhero comics, I did enjoy comic strips and the odd graphic novel. While I have read more comic strips than graphic novels, I always hold both in high regard.

At some point, I found myself trying my hand at drawing in one of the creative software on my computer. I created the very first panel in the webcomic and went on to draw more. I was somewhat satisfied with the style, so I kept going.

With a couple of pages finished and the beginnings of a story forming, I decided to do some plotting and practice. Drawing is not my strongest skill, but something I do enjoy doing on occasion. I ended up doing a lot more than I normally would and then the decision was made; I will make it into a webcomic.

How Often Will New Pages Be Released?

Finally, I will try to post a new page every week.

While this is a fun project, teaching writing and managing my YouTube channel still needs most of my attention. Of course, if the community following Malice grows, I will give the webcomic more attention and spend more time working on pages, thus releasing them more frequently.
